2010 ZGTF 10th AnniversaryZGTF celebrates it’s 10th Anniversary in 2010 and has now supported over 60 students to travel around the globe. The Trustees invite Students and Supporters to join them in celebrating a marvellous 10 years of work in conservation and look forward to the future together.
The Trustees made the following awards in 2010
Titania Fisher, from University College Falmouth, to study textile craft conservation with the Kala Raksha, Preservation of Traditional Arts, in Kutch, North West India. Isabel Gondar, from Lincoln University, to study ceramic conservation with the South African Institute for Objects Conservation in Joubertina, Eastern Cape, South Africia. Ciaran Lavelle, from Cardiff University, to study conservation of pottery, metal items, statues and building materials with the American School of Classical Studies, in Athens, Greece. Therese Malm, from Lincoln University, to study conservation of ethnographic and maritime archaeological collections with the Western Australian Museum in Fremantle, Australia. Jessica Pollard, from Lincoln University, to study paper conservation including documents, photographs, magazines and drawings with the Amsterdam City Archives in Amsterdam, Holland, including works for an exhibition on the Amsterdam police archives. Where are they now?
Over sixty students have travelled the globe since the Fellowship was launched in 2000. Following their inspirational journies, many Scholars have gone on to successful careers in conservation, including: Kaori Asai (conservation of textiles, Florence, 2002). Kaori is now a textile conservator, living in Hampton Court Palace, working for Historic Royal Palaces. Rebecca Jackson (salvaged artefacts from the pirate ship Whydah, Massachusetts, 2003). Rebecca is an assistant conservator with the Museum of Transport, Glasgow. Gareth Hunt (salvaged artefacts from the pirate ship Whydah, Massachusetts, 2003). Gareth is a senior museum officer at The South Lanarkshire Council Museums. Anthea Bisson (museum objects at The Walters Art Gallery, USA, 2004). Anthea is a conservator restorer of decorative arts at Plowden & Smith Ltd. Fernando Caceres (paintings, sculptures and religious buildings, Peru, 2004). Fernando is a conservator at the International Fine Art Studios. Karen Lim (Sir Edwin Lutyens, Lambay Island, Ireland, 2004). Karen is an associate with Cowper Griffith, architects, in Cambridge. Jane Wallis (Portuguese tile panels, Lisbon, 2004). Jane is a furniture conservator at The Royal Collection, Ruth Stevens (Japanese book and Tao conservation, Japan, 2005). Ruth is a book conservator at The British Library. Idries Trevathan (sculpture at The National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, 2005). Idries is a conservator at The Islamic Arts Museum, Malaysia. Rachel Swift (ceramics and glass working group, Slovenia, 2007). Rachel is a ceramics conservator at The British Museum. NewslettersWe are in the process of loading our newsletters.
